John Molyneaux

Head Coach

John has been teaching children and adults to swim for 12 years and coaching at Fareham Nomads for three years. As a former national junior backstroke champion, he brings knowledge and first-hand experience to the poolside. John is a qualified ASA/UKCC Level 3 swimming coach, with experience in coaching the Hampshire County Team as well as Regional Talent Programmes. He is also a valued member of the Nomads Masters team, where he became three times European Masters Champion in 2016.

Assistant Coach

Stewart has more than 30 years of experience and was Head Coach at the Club between 1990 – 2006 and 2013 – 2016. He now continues as Assistant Coach at Fareham Nomads. This longevity was recently recognised by Fareham Borough Council when he was made a Citizen of Honour of Fareham. With an eye for detail, he can teach from Learn to Swim to Masters, and everything in between. Stewart has coached swimmers to county, regional, national and international standards.

Steve Greenfield coach fnsc

Steve Greenfield


Steve has been coaching for 40 years, initially as a club helper and latterly as a full-time professional coach where he was Head Coach at Basingstoke for 12 years. He is a fully qualified ASA Coach and former Lead Tutor. He was also a co-author of Swimming Coaching Level 2 book. He has coached at all levels from development to international. He has a strong background in technique and the principles of child development. Steve still competes in Masters swimming at all levels and has done so for many years.

Dan Alberts

Academy Coach

Dan is an experienced teacher having taught at various swim schools for the past 3 years. Dan is the lead coach for our Academy Squad as well as teaching in our Learn to Swim Programme. He is currently studying a business degree at the University of Portsmouth.

Michael Spoor coach Fareham Nomads

Michael Spoor


Michael qualified as an ASA Assistant Coach in 1994. He has a vast range of experience teaching from Learn to Swim through to coaching competitive squads. After a break from coaching Michael resumed coaching in 2010 as Assistant Coach (whilst also being the Chairman between 2012 and 2015) with Gosport Dolphins when his eldest started competitive swimming, he coached her to three Disability National Championships. Since joining Fareham Nomads in 2015 Michael has supported the coaching team at training and competitions, as well as covering sessions across all groups.
