Dedicated volunteers give up their free time to run the administrative side of Fareham Nomads. The Committee is mainly made up of parents of swimmers who meet regularly to ensure the Club keeps running smoothly.
“As the Co-Chair, I’m seen as a figurehead, ambassador and a principal officer for the Club. I have been elected by members and have the responsibility for overseeing the running of the Club. I also volunteer as a team manager at galas and meets.”
Co-Chair & Minutes Secretary
“My role as Co-Chair means I have been elected by the members of the Club and have the responsibility for overseeing the smooth running of the club. While David’s focus is on the Club’s external relationships I am focused on the day-to-day operations. I also help organise our open meets, act as a minutes secretary, I’m a qualified Level 1 judge, and I volunteer at meets and galas..”
“As Treasurer, I am responsible for managing the Club’s finances and supporting the accountants in producing Fareham Nomads annual accounts. The position of Club Treasurer is an elected executive officer post, which enables me to actively contribute to a well-managed and governed club. Being a former competitive swimmer myself, I feel I can empathise with our swimmers and understand what’s important to them. I’m also an ASA licensed official and qualified team manager. These qualifications have allowed me to assist the Club at all levels including officiating at local, county, regional and national competitions – volunteering comes at all levels in swimming.”
Club Secretary & Membership
“I volunteer for Fareham Nomads as both Club and Membership Secretary, and am an elected executive officer of the Club. I provide a central point of contact for club administration, information and communication, providing a link between members, potential new members and external organisations such as the pools we use. As Membership Secretary I deal with new members joining the club and the ASA. I’m also a qualified timekeeper and Level 1 judge, so I can help out at galas and swim meets.”
