Minor League Round 1 2017 – (6th May 2017)
Well done to both teams that competed in the first round of the Minor League this weekend. This was a great opportunity for lots of our swimmers to gain experience competing as part of a team for the Club so it is particularly pleasing that both teams also placed well with the A team placing 1st and the B team 4th. Individual wins came from Hannah Cooper, James Baxter, Isobelle Kennedy, Sidney Collingwood, Ben King (2), Adam Green, Aaron Crockford, Emilia Evans, Holly Blake, Cillian Ross, Dan Alberts (2), Ryan Ireland (2), Charlie Holyer, Katie Egan, Haydn Clinton, Jess Davies and Aiden Phillips. Also well done to the A team relay teams in the U/11, U/13 and Open age groups who completed the double winning both FC and Medley relays. Full results can be found on the event page for Minor League on TU.

Stewarts 70th Celebrations

Thank you for everyone that contributed to the collection for Stewart’s Birthday present; a few people have asked what we used it to buy. We got him gardening vouchers, vouchers for Breezes restaurant in Hill Head, red wine and a bottle of single malt!

A plea for help from the committee
There are several things we need help with at the moment. If there is anyone out there that can help please get in touch.

Storing Speakers: We would like to purchase some new sound kit so that when we run galas / club champs we can hear the announcer! We need someone with dry storage space to house this kit for us when it is not being used.

Club Championships Team: We are already starting to look at Club Champs for September. We are really keen to get a larger team of people involved in running this this year. It is actually good fun and a great way to understand more about competitions. If you would like to be part of the team please get in touch.

Grants Applications: We need someone to sit and put together grant/charity applications for the Club. There are lots of opportunities out there for us to apply for money to fund club kit but at the moment we don’t have enough hours to do this. We will provide lots of info to get you started on this.

Thanks, Emma and the Nomads Committee.

Sickness
There are several bugs creeping around at present so please can we ask that swimmers do not attend training for 24hrs following being sick so we can prevent the spread of anything as much as possible.

Pool Rescue Award
We are looking to organise another Deep Water (3m) Pool Rescue Course in the near future, so that we can provide our own ‘lifeguard’ cover when necessary. This would be mainly at WHP, and occasionally at Wildern.

If you would be available to help out at these pools and are interested in taking / renewing this qualification (which lasts 2 years), please contact Sharron Kennedy sharronkennedy45@gmail.com and Kerry West secretaryfnsc@virginmedia.com.

If you are already qualified as a lifeguard and would be willing/able to help provide occasional cover, please contact Kerry West with details and she will add you to our personnel list.
