Five Fareham Nomads swimmers made great gains at the final weekend of the Swim England South East 14/Under Championships.
Charlie Holyer, Ellen Jewell, Joe Davies, Hannah Cooper and Cillian Ross all took to the water in Crawley on May 27 and 28.
Charlie swam two personal best times of over a second in both his races, to go 31.00 in 50m freestyle and 5.15.01 in 400m free.
Ellen, our youngest competitor, swam a PB in her 50m backstroke event to go 34.92, before dropping again to place 4th in the final with a time of 34.40. She also achieved a time of 1.07.46 in her 100m freestyle.
Joe knocked off an incredible eight seconds in his 200IM to swim a personal best time of 2.29.04. He also swam a PB in his 100m backstroke heat to qualifying with a time of 1.05.64 before coming 6th in the final with a time of 1.06.28. He swam another all time best in his 200m backstroke heat to go 2.21.88 before swimming another PB to place 7th in a time of 2.21.41.
Hannah dropped an amazing seven seconds off her best time in the 200m breaststroke with a time of 2.52.91 and three seconds off her best time in the 100m breaststroke to achieve 1.20.61.
Cillian, who swam in his first championships, swam a five second personal best time to go 2.31.97 in the 200m backstroke.
Head coach John Molyneaux said: “It was great to see all these swimmers make good progress, all swimming personal best times at the Championships. This was the final weekend of the competition so it was great that they finished it off with a bang!”
